Losing every case
For years, the easyGroup has filed regular opposition proceedings against new applications for trademarks containing the ‘easy’ part. The easyGroup believes it has exclusive rights to the descriptive word ‘easy’. For years now, EUIPO has repeatedly stated that it does not share that opinion. Nevertheless, the company continues to fight.
Six cases in a row
On the 9th of April, it was showdown time again. EUIPO ruled that the easyGroup cannot stop the French company Antalis from registering trademarks in six separate proceedings. This refers to the following logos; easytray, easyondemand, easyroll, easystock, easychoice and easyorder. When will easyGroup finally quit this costly battle?
